Why is PPID / Cushing’s Serious?
Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID), also known as Equine Cushing’s Disease, is a progressive hormonal disorder that affects many senior horses. If left untreated, it can lead to laminitis, chronic infections, muscle wasting, weight loss, increased risk of colic and metabolic complications

The Biggest Concern:
Most horses have PPID for years before showing obvious symptoms. Early detection is critical to improve quality of life and slow disease progression.

Symptoms of PPID: 

• Delayed shedding or abnormal hair pattern
• Lethargy or reduced stamina
• Weight loss or weight gain
• Abnormal sweating -Increased thirst or urination
• Laminitis or recurring hoof problems
• Frequent skin infections or abscesses
