Equine Choke
Did you know? Choke is one of the more common emergencies horse owners may encounter.
Nasal discharge containing saliva or feed, repeated attempts to swallow, coughing or signs of distress can all indicate an esophageal obstruction. While some cases may resolve, complications, including aspiration pneumonia, can be serious!
If you suspect choke in your horse, remove access to feed and contact your veterinarian immediately.
